Arnica

A friend was having surgery yesterday so I advised her last week to get the homeopathic Arnica 30c to take pre and post surgery. Arnica has a long history of this use as it helps prevent bruising, swelling and pain. And it works quite nicely for this.

But what if it did something totally different?

While listening to an interview by Regina Meredith with Homeopath Jerry M Kantor I learned that Arnica heals by making the inhabiting spirit feel at home.
Let me explain. Arnica grows high in the mountains where it marries the sun with the moist well watered earth, propagating by growing rhizomes along trickling streams. A member of the Sunflower family, it is the fire element with the water element. “It integrates the verticality of warmth and light with the horizontal spreading quality of water.”
“The physical properties of the Arnica herb are mirrored in the soul-spiritual healing forces of the flower essence. As the herb stimulates warmth and the flow of blood, Arnica brings the forces of the Spiritual Self into re-connection with the traumatized body or bodily region.” (1)
As Dr Kantor explained, “there is a level of consciousness that we all have that is invested in our intactness”. When a person has a shock or an accident, for example, where they have broken a bone, this level of consciousness is disrupted. This level of consciousness says “hmmm, the facts don’t match my understanding, this person is no longer ‘intact’.” (2) The level of consciousness then leaves the body briefly. That’s why it’s not uncommon for the injured person to say ‘I’m Okay” when really they are not. They are in shock.

Arnica pulls the soul consciousness back into the body making healing much more possible. It reconnects us to our bodies by reordering and restructuring the life forces that have been disrupted by the trauma.
It’s for these reasons Arnica is also good for Emotional Shock. In moments of emotional shock, this level of consciousness also leaves the body. So think Arnica when you’ve had emotional trauma.

Thank you for reading!
